CHIEF ADMINISTRATOR: Teaching Family Homes of Upper Michigan, Marquette, MI
SUMMARY:
The Chief Administrator will work under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer (or the Board of Directors of Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan if the Chief Executive Officer’s position is vacant), and will be directly responsible for oversight of all residential program operation. The Chief Administrator is Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan’s licensee designee for residential services who will have onsite day-to-day responsibility for the overall administration of the residential portion of Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan operations including the duty of assuring the care, safety, and protection of our residents.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Chief Administrator will serve the following administrative functions.
1. Responsibility for the on-site 7 day-to-day operation of Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan and for ensuring compliance with all contract specifications, licensing requirements, and certification and accreditation standards for all residential programs.
2. Develop and maintain a Quality Assurance Program to monitor adherence to all contract specifications, licensing requirements, and certification and accreditation standards for all residential programs.
3. Provide oversight to the coordination of human and fiscal resources to ensure TFH standards of practice are met in all residential programs.
4. Provide oversight and supervision to the Residential Director, Education Staff, and Therapists.
5. Assume the responsibilities of the Chief Executive Officer in his/her absence with guidance from the Board of Directors.
6. Provide oversight for all quality assurance activities for all residential programs (i.e. quality assurance committee, performance evaluations, agency accreditation and certification, state licensing and TFH model integrity).
7. Assume the responsibilities of any other Program Director in his/her absence.
8. Assume responsibility for program development to include procurement, design, policies and procedures, grant writing, responding to Requests for Proposals, Requests for Quotations and maintain professional linkages with all current and potential customers of TFH residential services.

· Conduct a written assessment and verify the agency’s compliance with all contract specifications, licensing requirements, and certification and accreditation standards for all residential programs.
· Develop and implement a written plan to correct, within 6 months, any violations identified as a result of the above assessment.
· Conduct a written evaluation of trends and patterns of all unplanned discharges from residential programs.
10. Other duties as assigned by the CEO or Board
The Chief Administrator is the primary linkage between all program functions and administrative business functions to the Chief Executive Officer. The activities of this office must promote clear concise transfer of information in a prompt fashion to ensure a team approach to the mission of Teaching-Family Homes of Upper Michigan.
The Chief Administrator will take part in the annual strategic planning and budget development process.
The Chief Administrator will offer residential program reports to the Executive Committee of the TFH Board of Directors at their regularly scheduled meetings, may participate in standing or ad hoc board committees as needed, and provide reports to the full Board of Directors as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) A Master’s Degree in social work, sociology, psychology, guidance and counseling, education, business administration, criminal justice, or public administration and two years experience in a child caring institution or child placing agency.
(b) A Bachelor’s Degree with a major in social work, sociology, psychology, criminal justice, education, guidance and counseling, business administration, or public administration and four (4) years of post bachelor’s degree experience in a child caring institution or child placing agency.
Diplomas or transcripts documenting an acceptable degree must be available. The diploma must identify the specific degree granted.
Work history must also be documented to show the required work experience.
