Pay Range: $31,200+ annually


WHAT WE DO

Methodist Home for Children serves repeat juvenile offenders who are at risk of being placed in a detention or youth development center – or who are leaving a residential placement but cannot live safely at home. Our staff is trained in a values-based model of care to effectively help young people break old habits and learn new skills, catch up in school, and set positive goals for themselves.

WE’RE HIRING

Direct Support Staff provide program services to intervene with adolescents being served in MHC’s residential group homes. Job responsibilities include implementing direct treatment services through use of the agency’s model of care, providing residential care services, and working with adolescents, families, volunteers, and community representatives in the youth home and community settings.

Qualified candidates will be at least 21 years old and have a minimum of a High School Diploma/GED. This position requires a valid NC driver's license, the successful completion of required screenings and trainings, and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including living onsite during shifts.

·        Paid Holidays: MHFC gives full-time employees paid holidays each year.

·        Vacation Leave: First partial calendar year of hire is pro-rated at 10 days (80 hours) per year

·        Sick Leave: Paid sick leave is accumulated at 12 days (96 hours) per calendar year. All unused sick leave will carry over into the next calendar year.

·        Health Benefits: Employees may choose between the Blue Cross Blue Shield Medical Base HSA Plan or Medical Buy-Up HSA Plan. Dental and Vision plans are also available.

·        Health Care Flex Plan:  Employees can utilize the optional Health Care Flexible Spending Account (HSA) tax-free reimbursement program for out-of-pocket medical, dental, and vision expenses for themselves and their dependents. 

·        Dependent Care Flex Plan:  Employees can utilize the optional Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) tax-free reimbursement program for their eligible dependent care expenses. 

·        Life Insurance: Term life insurance is provided by MHC for full-time staff in the amount of $75,000. Supplemental life insurance is available for individual or family coverage.

·        Workers’ Compensation: This agency-paid benefit covers on-the-job injury.

·        403B Plan: Employees can contribute to a tax-deferred annuity plan; MHC matches a portion of the contributed funds.

·        Credit Union:  All employees are offered membership to the Coastal Credit Union (CCU). 

·        Employee Assistance Program: This agency-paid benefit provides easy access to confidential, professional counseling for employees and their families.
