Methodist Home for Children: Resident Counselors

Methodist Home for Children, headquartered in Raleigh, is a 501(c)(3) that works to ensure safe, nurturing homes for children while working to eradicate the social and family problems that lead to abuse, neglect, family disruption and abandonment. We provide community-based services for children and families throughout North Carolina. We partner with public agencies to serve children in crisis and we raise private funds to ensure that we can deliver the best in evidence-based services.
The primary responsibility of the Resident Counselor is to provide program services to intervene with adolescents being served in MHC’s residential group homes. The position’s job responsibilities include implementing direct treatment services through use of the agency’s model of care, providing residential care services, and working with adolescents, families, volunteers, and community representatives in the youth home and community settings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· MUST BE TWENTY-ONE (21) YEARS OF AGE;
· MINIMUM OF A HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AND EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH CLIENT POPULATION.
· MUST MAINTAIN A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND AN ACCEPTABLE DRIVING RECORD.
· MUST BE ABLE TO WORK A FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, INCLUDING NIGHTS, WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME.
